A TV Program?

It's hard to beleive that we have been filming for 13 weeks! The Telos All Digital Television Network should begin showing our program and airing all programing in the next couple of days. The words to me from the producer were "You have no idea how big this whole thing is!" I probalby don't understand, but can't wait to see what happens next!
The one thing that amazes me the most is how much I have learned while doing the research and studying for this program! WOW! Was I dumb! I had never really cared that much about the nutritional value of my foods--I pretty much didn't care what the label said and cared even less if it was organic or not (still don't care that much about that one!) But I am learning so much, just by filling my circle with people who are knowledgable and interested in in eating healthy.
I am truly becoming a proponent for healthy foods, and probably, over the course of time, I will even begin to eat organic foods--if just to eleminate the additives that are being pumped into our bodies!
While I certainly didn't plan on being a lobbyist for any farm group, I am constantly shaking my head at how much control the government has over our food, and what a poor job they do at monitoring it! Things that should be checked--like the recent egg recall--are slipping through the cracks. And things that should be left up to individuals--like the great raw milk debate--are stuck in a myriad of laws!
I don't intend my show, or my blog, to become a political soapbox, but America! Wake Up! What we are losing here is much more than just the right to select our milk!
If we don't ban together, in a few more years we will all be getting a "raw" deal--and it won't be in the form of milk!

MY Life is getting Healthier!

We have successfully completed seven programs to date. It is hard to beleive that barely two months ago we never even contemplated hosting a television program! All of the people on our crew have learned so much, trained so hard, and given up their time and talents to make our show "TV-quality!" It is a great accomplishment. Now I just need to polish all my bad habits and become the next "Oprah" of the Medical News World!
One of the multitude of things I am learning is how to make my own life healthy! I had no idea how bad aspertame, sodium, flouride and many other things are for you. I never took the time to check up on what anti-oxidents are and why they are good for me; but now I am doing all of this research, I am applying this new-found knowledg to my own life!
With the major advancements in the medical field, there is no reason why the majority of us can't live a "healthy" life to the very end. I'm not saying that we won't get diseases or have health issues, but when we start taking care of our bodies, the overall affect is one of good health and long life! If you are going to live a long life--it might as well be healthy!
We should be getting the hard-time frame of when the Telos Digital Television Network will be airing in the next 7-10 days. We are excited to be a part of this new network and hope that all our hard work will benefit a great number of people who will watch our program.
I'll keep you posted on the when, where and time frame! Have a great and healthy week!

Make Your Life Healthy!

I still have a hard time to believe that I am now the host of a weekly TV program! What in the world am I doing? I'm 57 years old and it's the first time I've ever been in front of a TV camera! Now, suddenly, I'm researching, writing, filming, editing and getting the program ready to air!! Every single week! The first couple of programs were, let's say, overwhelming. Now we have settled into a routine and it is getting easier each week. With the help of Mylina (our daughter) to initiate the research, the writing and producing is getting easier.
We completed the fourth program last night and turned in program three to begin airing on Sunday at the Waycross Media station. For the next week, you will be able to see the current program four times.
Once the Telos Network begins airing, hopefully in a few weeks, Make Your Life Healthy will be available on cable and sattelite.
I hope that you will be able to find something interesting and learn from it. I know that Rick and I have certainly learned a lot in the time we have been filming.
Watch for more info weekly!
