Several months ago I researched a product for our TV show called Moringa Oleifera. While it seemed like a great botanical, the true value of it didn't sink in until much later. This miracle tree, found mostly in India and 10 degrees North or South of the equator, has been around for thousands of years and used by millions of people for a variety of remedies: Stomach issues, High blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight loss, allergies, cardiovascular problems, depression, up to 300 different diseases and issues. This product takes the place of all your vitamins, and is so rich in nutrients (92 of them) that it can actually sustain life. When you take this product you can eliminate your fish oil, vitamin packs, joint medicine, and much more. Zija contains 47 antioxidants, 39 anti-inflammatories, all your essential Omega's and vitamins A, B, C and on and on--through the alphabet, Z to A!
There is a great special running on our TV program right now with the formulator of the Zija products, Russ Bianchi. Check out the show at www.waycross.tv Here is the direct link:

The Changes In Our World
Wow! For the last few weeks just keeping up with the changes in our world has been exhausting! The debt ceiling, the price of gas, the cost of gold--and on and on and on! I have been reading for a while now that everything is going to change in 2011; our financial structure, our life as we know it, our world. And we have seen so many changes already in our weather patterns, our economy, our political atmosphere.
But there are some things that ARE constant in our world (at least for now)and that is our ability to change things that we do not want to remain the same. Change is one of the greatest freedoms we have in this life. We have the opportunity, by living in these free United States, to change. We can change where we live, how we live, who we live with and what occupation we choose to do to earn money. We can choose the foods we eat, our lifestyle, our health, our happiness. Rick and I have made great changes in our nutrition since learning so many things while we film our TV program, Make Your Life Healthy.
Other things that we can change are the places we visit. Because of our freedom, unlike that of many other countries and nations, we can cross the boarders from state to state without a passport. During this vacation time of the year, many people take vacations and go from state to state without a thought. But it is not like that in other parts of the world.
One of the most wonderful places I visited recently was in Zionsville, Indiana. The Nancy Noel Art Gallery, The Sanctuary, is a re purposed church, turned into an art gallery and restaurant. From the moment you enter, the art and atmosphere project a feeling of calm, peace, and breathtaking beauty. Nancy's art is known world wide and she is making a change by donating to a school she started in Africa. She saw a need when she visited there and decided to do something about it. She initiated a positive change in the lives of hundreds of children.
Each of us have that wonderful opportunity to make a change. We always impact others around us when we do so. Hopefully the changes are for the better: Better health, better work, better relationships, better habits. When you are having a day where you think nothing matters, or not everything is going as you would want, just stop and realize that YOU can make it better. YOU have the power to make a change. So don't just sit there--change something! (If it is only your socks!) you will feel better and so will those around you.

Variety is the Spice of (Make Your) LIFE (Healthy)
We have really seen some variety in the filming of our television program over the last month! Programs have taken us from Zionsville, Indiana to Byrdstown, Tennessee!
We have talked about Spiritual Health through the amazing healing of ART and about the peace and calm that comes from vacations on the water.
We spent a weekend at Sunset Marina on Dale Hollow Lake and filmed an up coming program on healthy eating, exercising, relaxing and playing while on vacations.
We had an audiologist on our show who discussed the benefits of hearing well in social situations and what can be done about tinnitus. Ring, ring, buzz, buzz!
We enjoyed a lively conversation about cellular detoxification with Bret Abner, The Wellness Dude. Did you know your cells also accumulate lots of chemicals and pollutants just like your skin, hair and lungs? Yuck! Get it out!
The exciting thing about Make Your Life Healthy is that we can branch out in so many differnent directions! Just think about the ways to REALLY make our life healthy--nutrition is just one of them.
I have especially enjoyed our new garden this summer and can't wait to reap the harvest! It has brought me a new sense of peace and calm as I anxiously check out each plant and pull the tinies weeds out of the dirt! I even carry pictures of the garden with me to show off! It's like my "baby!"
The summer is also the perfect time to spend some quality time taking rides in the country. My daughter Mylina and granddaughter Emery took a 3 hour ride to pick up some koi for our pond through Indiana; we came back a different way and arrived at home in only 40 minutes! But, hey, the scenery was great!
Yes, summer is the time for variety! Try a new recipe this week, or spend time taking a differnt route to your favorite place. Mix it up!
And whatever you do, have a great week!

Gardening in Fairfield?
One of the things Rick and I decided when we took on the TV Show Make Your Life Healthy, is that we would also start implementing the healthy ideas into our own lives. We have made number of changes: Drinking filtered water, purchasing a Herd Share and drinking only raw milk; buying organic eggs; purchasing our beef from a farmer who raises grass feed beef; buying free range chickens and local produce whenever possible. So when the spring came this year, we decided to plant our own backyard garden.
In our 41 years of marriage, only once did we tackle a garden and it was many years ago. It resulted in 7 pieces of okra at the end of the summer. Not so profitable. This time we decided to do it by the book. We did some research and Rick built two 16' x 4' raised beds. We purchased some top soil, picked up a load of moo-poo and borrowed a roto-tiller to get the soil ready. Then over Memorial Day weekend, we planted our garden.
One thing we "new-bees" don't know is what to expect from our plants. Are four strawberries enough? Is 20 zucchini too much? Do cucumbers really grow on a trellis? Should the 16 tomato plants and 18 pepper plants be enough?
We also planted two kinds of lettuce, spinach, radishes, beans, peas, watermelon, mush melon, onions, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. After only three weeks, all the seed have sprouted and the plants are developing nicely. Something is eating my cabbage leaves, but all the rest are doing fine. It is exciting to see how much these plants grow in 24 hours! You can literally watch them grow! We have blossoms on our cucumbers, melons, tomatoes and tiny baby peppers on our pepper plants.
If you haven't tried back yard gardening, it is not too late to get in gear for a fall harvest.
I am keeping a journal with all the info on when our plants germinated, how they are doing and will eventually keep track of the harvest. We plan to do this again next year, earlier rather than later, and we want to know what we had enough of and what we would like to have had more results.
I will posts photos of our garden so everyone can share in our excitement!
My mom said it is like the Victory Gardens after WWII. They sacrificed for so long during the war and their gardens were a sign of great victory when the war ended.
We are fighting a battle too! Too much chemicals, too much processed foods and too little fruits and vegetables--our Victory garden will hopefully yield a healthier life! (and possible zucchini for the whole neighborhood!!)
Happy gardening!

On the Way to National TV
A year ago when we began filming our TV program as a group of novice TV people, we had aspirations of being on Telos by fall; then by the first of the year. Now e just learned that we will be on the Telos Digital TV Network beginning on April 25! Shortly after it will be on Direct TV and hopefully the negotiations with Fox and Time Warner will be complete and we will be shown on the Fox channels around the coutnry, broadcast by Time Warner. Lots of positive things are happening!
So what we have learned in the last year? TV production is a lot of work! Each program must be researched, written, rehearsed, filmned, edited, compressed and sent off for airing. in all, between all of our work it is about 20 hours of work to produce one episode!
Our crew (and I) have worked the last year for FREE, hoping that when the show goes on Telos, our advertisers and viewers will keep us going!
But we hav really learned so much about our health and that all our changes and knowledge will benefit Americans just by making one simple change each week. One simple change!
We (Rick and I) have made so many changes persoanlly that we might just live forever!
So come on America, Wake Up! It's time to make YOUR life healthy!
Until we air nationwide, check us out at www.waycross.tv, under community programming. 24/7--take a peek. And in the menatime, like us on Facebook!
