The Changes In Our World

Wow! For the last few weeks just keeping up with the changes in our world has been exhausting! The debt ceiling, the price of gas, the cost of gold--and on and on and on! I have been reading for a while now that everything is going to change in 2011; our financial structure, our life as we know it, our world. And we have seen so many changes already in our weather patterns, our economy, our political atmosphere.
But there are some things that ARE constant in our world (at least for now)and that is our ability to change things that we do not want to remain the same. Change is one of the greatest freedoms we have in this life. We have the opportunity, by living in these free United States, to change. We can change where we live, how we live, who we live with and what occupation we choose to do to earn money. We can choose the foods we eat, our lifestyle, our health, our happiness. Rick and I have made great changes in our nutrition since learning so many things while we film our TV program, Make Your Life Healthy.
Other things that we can change are the places we visit. Because of our freedom, unlike that of many other countries and nations, we can cross the boarders from state to state without a passport. During this vacation time of the year, many people take vacations and go from state to state without a thought. But it is not like that in other parts of the world.
One of the most wonderful places I visited recently was in Zionsville, Indiana. The Nancy Noel Art Gallery, The Sanctuary, is a re purposed church, turned into an art gallery and restaurant. From the moment you enter, the art and atmosphere project a feeling of calm, peace, and breathtaking beauty. Nancy's art is known world wide and she is making a change by donating to a school she started in Africa. She saw a need when she visited there and decided to do something about it. She initiated a positive change in the lives of hundreds of children.
Each of us have that wonderful opportunity to make a change. We always impact others around us when we do so. Hopefully the changes are for the better: Better health, better work, better relationships, better habits. When you are having a day where you think nothing matters, or not everything is going as you would want, just stop and realize that YOU can make it better. YOU have the power to make a change. So don't just sit there--change something! (If it is only your socks!) you will feel better and so will those around you.
